Errol Sari, Discarted & Redeemed

Barcelona, Spain — British born Spain based artist Errol Sari presents his latest body of work in a solo exhibition at art space Mono30, opening on 27th September. Titled Discarded & Redeemed, the exhibition will feature a series of sculptural vases crafted from recycled PET plastic and vintage glass, representing Sari’s ongoing exploration of transformation, ephemerality, and materiality. These new works push the boundaries between the functional and the abstract, inviting viewers to engage with the artist’s unique vision of reimagining everyday objects.

Drawing from his rich cultural background and deep connection to social issues, Sari’s vessels echo the diverse silhouettes of Greek, Chinese, and Roman forms. However, his works transcend their classical influences, with each vessel appearing as though in a state of motion—captured mid-transition, yet grounded by the materials’ inherent qualities. The recycled plastic and glass give these pieces a modern resonance, underscoring the tension between discarded objects and their potential for redemption.

Sari’s practice, deeply rooted in the ethos of repurposing and sustainability, takes on new depth with this series. “I’ve always been fascinated by taking what society considers worthless or forgotten and turning it into something of value,” Sari explains. “These vases are born out of that same philosophy—each one is a reflection on the beauty of impermanence and the fluidity of time.”

Discarded & Redeemed continues Sari’s examination of social and environmental themes.

By using recycled materials, he not only comments on the ephemerality of life but also on the importance of rethinking how we value what is often overlooked. Each piece plays with the interplay of movement and stillness, light and shadow, offering visitors an evolving visual experience as they move through the exhibition.

Errol Sari’s artistic journey, shaped by his experiences growing up in London during the 70s and 80s, continues to inform his work. His involvement in political movements and commitment to social justice are evident in his practice, though his recent work takes a more introspective and subtle approach. The vases in this exhibition reflect a matured perspective—one that still conveys powerful messages about resilience, transformation, and the potential for beauty in the unexpected.
